We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of outsourced facilities management services across LKQ’s National Distribution Centres, primarily based at our Tamworth distribution centres, with oversight of our Dublin operation and future strategic sites.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll ensure our distribution centres remain safe, compliant, operationally resilient, and cost-effective, supporting the uninterrupted flow of goods across a fast-paced logistics network. You’ll be the key facilities partner to our operations teams, driving supplier performance, asset reliability, compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the FM strategy across the National Distribution Centre portfolio.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Property, and Finance teams to support business growth and operational resilience.
  • Lead long-term asset lifecycle planning and infrastructure investment programmes.
  • Drive innovation, process improvement, automation, and technology adoption within FM operations.
  • Deliver sustainability and energy management initiatives aligned to corporate ESG objectives.
  • Support site expansions, refurbishments, and infrastructure projects from an FM perspective.
  • Produce strategic reporting for senior leadership on risks, supplier performance, investment requirements, and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage integrated FM contracts covering both hard and soft services.
  • Monitor supplier performance against SLAs and KPIs with a focus on operational continuity.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage contract tenders, renewals, variations, and service scope changes.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across critical assets:
  • Minimise operational disruption through effective maintenance planning.
  • Lead the response to major facilities incidents and ensure rapid resolution.
  • Ensure full statutory compliance across the portfolio.
  • Oversee contractor safety, permits, inductions, audits, and risk management processes.
  • Manage FM operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Identify and deliver cost efficiencies without compromising operational performance.

Skills and Experience

You’ll be an experienced facilities management professional with a strong background in industrial, logistics, or distribution environments, combining strategic thinking with operational excellence.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience managing outsourced FM contracts within large-scale industrial or logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of hard FM services and critical asset maintenance.
  • Experience developing and implementing FM strategies.
  • A solid understanding of asset lifecycle management, capital planning, and business continuity.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements and health & safety regulations.
  • Experience delivering sustainability and energy management initiatives.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, budget management, and supplier negotiation skills.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed sites and service providers.

Qualifications

  • IWFM qualification (or equivalent)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Engineering, Building Services, or Facilities Management background
