Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Driver Trainer to join our team. This role is key in ensuring our drivers operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company standards and legal requirements. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, supporting driver development, and promoting a strong safety culture across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inductions and ongoing training to HGV drivers
- Conduct driver assessments, including on-road evaluations
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
- Support new starters through onboarding and buddying processes
- Identify training needs and provide coaching to improve performance
- Monitor driver behaviour, including safety, compliance, and efficiency
- Investigate incidents and provide retraining where required
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation
- Complete risk assessments when required
- Health & Safety ambassador for LKQ
- Support the operational management team where required
- Flexibility on shift patterns, start times and location
Skills and Experience
- Valid HGV (C+E License with experience)
- Strong computer skills (word/excel/PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of driver hours, tachograph rules, and road safety regulations
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Ability to influence and support drivers at all levels of ability
- Driver CPC qualification
- Previous assessor or training role or qualification (desirable), such as:
- RTITB / JAUPT-approved instructor courses or willingness to complete courses
