Job Overview

The Management Accountant will be responsible for the overall financial accounting and reporting for LKQ Ireland (ROI), while also supporting the UK month-end close process. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, timely financial information to LKQ Europe and LKQ Corporation, ensuring compliance with local statutory, tax, and internal control requirements.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong technical accounting and stakeholder management skills

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

    • Process and review month-end close postings for LKQ Ireland
    • Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations for ROI, including clearing and analysis of outstanding items
    • Produce and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs for ROI to LKQ Corporation and LKQ Europe
    • Perform variance analysis and provide clear commentary on financial performance

Group & US GAAP Reporting

    • Prepare and submit monthly US GAAP accounting adjustments in line with group requirements
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all group reporting submissions in accordance with LKQ corporate policies

Controls, Compliance & Audit

    • Review and ensure compliance with management control requirements during month-end close
    • Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, and adherence to LKQ Corp policies
    • Respond to internal and external audit queries in a timely and professional manner
    • Support improvements to financial controls and month-end close procedures

Tax & Statutory Responsibilities

    • Resolve VAT and Corporation Tax queries and perform related analysis for the ROI entity
    • Complete all external reporting and statutory submissions to Revenue and other relevant government bodies
    • Support compliance with local regulatory and statutory requirements

Business Support & Process Improvement

    • Ensure the integrity and consistency of financial data provided to other areas of the business
    • Actively identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting
    • Build, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the business
    • Provide ad hoc financial and analytical support as required

 

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in a management accounting or financial accounting role

  • Strong experience with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis

  • Knowledge of US GAAP adjustments and group reporting requirements desirable

  • Experience dealing with auditors and statutory reporting requirements

  • Strong understanding of VAT and Corporation Tax processes in Ireland

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders

  • Highly organised, able to manage deadlines and work independently

  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
